SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

Purpose
USA Streetlifting acknowledges the benefits of social media as a tool to foster and grow an online community of streetlifters. The purpose of this Social Media Policy is to establish clear guidelines for the responsible and effective use of social media by all individuals affiliated with USA Streetlifting. This policy aims to protect the organization’s reputation, promote the growth of streetlifting, and foster a positive and inclusive online community. By providing these guidelines, USA Streetlifting seeks to encourage constructive engagement, safeguard confidential information, and prevent any misuse of social media that could harm the organization or its members.

Who does this apply to?
This Social Media Policy applies to all individuals affiliated with USA Streetlifting, including but not limited to State Chairs, Athletes, Coaches, Judges, Volunteers, Staff Members, Board Members, Meet Directors, and any other representative or individual acting on behalf of USA Streetlifting. All these parties are expected to adhere to the guidelines set forth in this policy when engaging in social media activities that relate to or impact USA Streetlifting.

USA Streetlifting Social Media Policy Guidelines
1. Firstly, everyone is responsible for the content that they post on social media. Be vigilant about the content that you post.

2. All social media content should represent the highest level of professionalism at all times. As an individual affiliated with USA Streetlifting, you are a representative of the sport and its culture and the way you present yourself digitally can be a reflection of how the sport is represented as well.

3. All social media content should be respectful and constructive. The tonality and demeanor of your content should be consistent with how you would interact with someone face-to-face.

4. Cyberbullying is distinctly different from healthy competition and is strictly prohibited. Any incidence of cyberbullying should be reported to USA Streetlifting.

5. Do not post content of other athletes without their permission.

Violations of USA Streetlifting Social Media Policy
A breach of this policy may result in the following:

● Suspension from USA Streetlifting events for a set period of time

● Removal of the individual from any USA Streetlifting-affiliated positions (i.e. State Chair)
