Introducing the State Branches Initiative
We needed to meet the demand of streetlifting meets nationwide and the way we approached this “problem” was to launch the State Branches Initiative.
This initiative is designed to establish a structured, state-to-national pipeline by officially recognizing state-level branches under the USA Streetlifting banner. These branches will serve as the primary means for athlete recruitment, local competition organization, community engagement, and the overall expansion of the sport within their respective states.
The Why: Scaling with Purpose
A decentralized and delegation approach was necessary for the initiative to be successful. This means that qualified individuals who are designated as “State Chairs” run their respective state branches, following and abiding by the standards of USA Streetlifting.
This model ensures that the sport grows both in quantity and quality.
Key Objectives of the State Branches Initiative
- Localized Athlete Recruitment
Providing more frequent and accessible competitions for athletes to gain experience, improve rankings, and prepare for national and international stages. - Community Building & Engagement
Helping grow local streetlifting communities and small businesses - Talent Identification & Growth
Creating a seamless pipeline to identify emerging athletes - Event Expansion & Accessibility
Facilitating the hosting of more sanctioned meets across the country, reducing geographical barriers to entry for new athletes and spectators
How It Works: Structure & Leadership
As mentioned earlier, each state branch will be led by an appointed State Chair, responsible for:
- Organizing at least 1 sanctioned USA Streetlifting meet per year.
- Acting as the liaison between their state’s streetlifting community and USA Streetlifting’s national leadership.
- Promoting the sport through seminars, workshops, and meetups
USA Streetlifting provides all state branches with the necessary resources, consultation, and support to ensure the success of all state branches.
